Yeti DayTrip Lunch Bag Rating

Spread the love

As an angler, house cook and the primary food buyer for my small urban family, I hardly leave a home without a cooler. Mostly, however, a hard cooleror even a soft vinyl -coatedis too cumbersome. I live in New York City and don’t always have my car. But I am regularly with a toddler in tow, with perishable snacks or shopping or fishing, often on spontaneous occasions, and it is worth having something broken – and durable – on hand.

It is enough to say that coolers are a large part of my daily life. I have also been a cooler tester for several publications in the past ten years and I have rated almost every cool of which you have heard of. So when I finally give my heart a cooler, it is due to hard -earned affection, which leads to a real, slow kind of love. And the daily driver’s cooler that I fell is actually a lunch box: Yetis DayTrip Lunch bag, which is also our splurge recommendation in ours Lunch boxing rating.

Why the Yeti DayTrip is not your child’s balance sheet box is not

The day trip is isolated and yet compact and foldable (can fit a manageable size in a backpack, a bag, a stroller suspension or a wallet), and proves that it is worthwhile that it is worthwhile to worth the empty weight in the empty person. Add from Ice bag Hold a bottle of milk, a six -pack of beer, a plate of meat or a handful of fresh fillets cold.

This is the proprietary closed cell foam from Yetis (the same stuff that isolates the hard coolers of the brand) and a few magnets that help to seal the opening much better than an average lunch box. In addition, there is what I consider for the sea quality: a heavy nylon grip, a series of loops to cut out a carabiner and a rustproof metal closure that locks easily and firmly. The latter condenses the interior, squeezes on warm air and slows down the oxidation, significantly when it beats fresh meat, seafood or poultry.

My special day of the day trip has seen all this service ten times and a few more. It has all the above -mentioned spills for at least five years. It was pulled over rocks and plasters, forgotten with the above -mentioned content inside, faltered and came out like new every time. The liner is so robust and stained and odor -resistant that I confidently drop fish fillets directly into it without worrying about using plastic bags. In a pinch, I will even hit a whole fish there, spines and everything without worry. A short peeling with Detergent And hot water, and the bag is not worse for wear.
