We taste eight brands of Cheddar cheese slices, which you will probably find in your local supermarket. To find the best, we tried a burger without knowing which brand was. Our winner is Tillamook Sharp Cheddar.
The request for this taste test triggered wild debates in our team, especially in terms of what cheese belongs Citizens First with. After two hours (!) Back and forth (we are nothing here with serious dining outes, if not incredibly thorough), we … not even reached a consensus. How could we have sleeped so well that night when we could explain the American cheese-die option rubber-be-smeller? How would we have been able to show our faces in the kitchen the next day if we instead have cheddar-die better tasting but inferior selection-as winners?
So we didn’t do it. But because Kenji did this exercise with American cheese Some time ago and because we all wanted to eat a lot of cheese, we went to the Cheddar route. We knew little that it would not be one complete American cheese without a day.

You know the Shtick: The SE team has raised eight brands of Cheddar cheese slices that you will probably find in your local supermarket, and methodically, empirical, scientific! All of them tasted through them to identify the best to make all of their upcoming cheeseburgers. We had a great time! We had to take a few deep breaths and a few long walks! We all made a lot of fat pictures of bunches!

The criteria
Cheddar cheese for cheeseburger must be spicy and sharp. How sharp and clear enough that you can eat it as an independent snack without having to ask what you have just eaten. It should also be fair Salzig enough that you don’t immediately need Water – you should only want a few sips.
The addition of heat should not alleviate the integrity or taste of the cheese (see: slices should converge to coat the pastets evenly; it should not generate sideways cheese drops in which you have to remove a hand from your burger to catch or clean). The correct grip also means that there are no melted sections of the disc that eat dryly. Medium -heavy route is also important! A few bite per burger should result in a fine, thin cheese chain that gently breaks on its own. After all, there shouldn’t be much smooth cheese fat. Fat is best as a Patty’s thing! We added two cheese slices for the best measurement of taste and melt to each burger.
Although we did not ultimately recorded a color criterion, we only agreed to Funsies that Orange Cheddar felt more correct in this context.

Tillamook Sharp Cheddar
The only cheese among competitors who unanimously referred to as a “pronounced Cheddar taste”. Some called it “nice”, others called it “very nice”, they called it “really nice” and so on and so on. Our winner contains only four ingredients: cultivated milk, salt, enzymes and Annatto (a food colored derived from Achiote, which is often used to give orange cheese). On the other hand, our runner -up has a variety of preservatives and flavor enhancers, including maltodextrin, lactic acid and sorbic acid. To say all of this: Although our editors prefer Cheddar discs who have their own cheese dairy and a tang, they are not immune to the stimuli of the processed cheese with great grabap.
Our test methodology
All taste tests are carried out with brands that are completely hidden and without discussion. Tasted tastes of samples in random order. For example, button A can taste a sample first, while buttons B tastes a sample first. This is intended to prevent the tiredness of the palate of a sample wrong. Tasters are asked to fill out tasting sheets that take the samples for different criteria. All data is calculated in tabular and the results without editorial input in order to enable us to present the most impartial presentation of the actual results.
