USDA announces a recall of over 24,000 pound sausage due to plastic pollution
On July 17, 2025, the US Food Safety and Inspection of the U.S. Ministry of Agriculture (FSIS) terminated a recall On £ 24,173 outdoors outdoor apple chicken -sausage. The recall was initiated by Kayem Foods Inc. from Chelsea, Massachusetts, after three consumers reported that they found white plastic pieces in the company’s prevailing chicken sausage products.
The affected sausage was produced on June 28 and shipped nationwide to retailers.
This is how you identify the remembered chicken sausage
If you have recently bought sweet apple chicken sausage in the Alfresco, look for the following information to determine whether your product has been recalled:
- 11 -unzen-vacuum packed packages with four parts of “All Natural Fresco Chicken Wurst Sweet Apple with Vermont Mercy Sirup” with Loscode “179” and “Use/freezing” Date “Oct 01 2025”, printed on the back package label.
In addition, the product will carry the furnishing number “P-7839” within the US Ministry of Agriculture (USDA), which can be seen on the front of the product in the lower right corner. You can also find pictures of the product labels on the FSIS website.
What to do if you have the recalled chicken sausage?
If you have the call back in your fridge or freezer, you should not consume it. Instead, throw it away or return it to the original purchase location for a refund.
