As long as Rawlette can remember, the quick and simple hot fudge sauce from Great Dotsie was a family tradition. “It was the favorite sauce of my great -uncle Charles on his cake and often performed at Family. I tried it there for the first time,” says Rawlette. Over the years, so many beautiful memories melts that it has a way to appreciate those who no longer sit at the table with them.
“This Fudge sauce is so meaningful due to all years of all parties with family members who are no longer here. This is a way to bring all memories and relatives back with the current family,” says Rawlette, a mother of two boys.
The family’s favorite fudge tradition continues after the great aunt has passed because Rawlett’s grandmother has kept all recipe cards. Since then, these have been passed on to their mother and now to Rawlette themselves. After she was blessed with the beloved recipe, Rawlette learned the secret that makes this five-minute dessert sauce so delicious: “Instead of using powder cocoa cocoa, the hot fudge of Great Dotsie from Aunt Dotsie’s has a richer dark chocolate block that melts so beautifully.”

As written, this recipe takes 5 minutes, how Rawlette reveals, and although she admits that it is tempting to tinker with it, she always asks: “Why playing around success?”
“Big Aunt Dotsie perfected it, so I enjoy it how she – and my grandma and mother – closed,” says Rawlette. “My only slight change is to use salted instead of unsalted butter!”
