Ginger & cardamom poached nectarine recipe

In a wide pot (large enough to absorb the halved nectarine in a layer), combine 625 ml of water, the sugar, half of the ginger, half of the cardamom shells and the crushed seeds and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat with occasional stirring until the sugar dissolves about 8-10 minutes.
