Spread the love

We try 12 lemonade brands that you will probably find in your local supermarket or online. To find the best, we tried each without knowing which one was. Our winner is simply lemonade, but we also crowned two runners -up.

On the summer day, a sip of cold lemonade OB is homemade, bought in the shop or bought by economical children-and the ultimate thirst quencher. Making lemonade is not difficult. Despite the lightness, there are moments like when they organize a backyard grill when the bottle lemonade proves to be a practical option.

The difficult part is to find Good Bottle lemonade, and this is because fresh lemon juice deteriorates quickly, especially after pasteurization and storage. In order to find the best bottle limonades that still appear for the best fresh things, our editors have tried 12 different brands, which you will probably find in your local grocery store or online. We chose lemonade without additional flavors such as strawberry, raspberry or other fruits. We cooled and poured them in cups and then tried them in a random order without knowing which brand was. We then tabulared the results and crowned an overall winner and two worthy competitors, which we would like to serve at our cookouts.

The criteria

You don’t need much to make a great lemonade – just lemons, sugar and water. Lemonade should achieve a pleasant balance between sweetness and acid, with just enough oralities to store it, and just enough sugar to make experience comfortable without preventing yourself. Good lemonade should have the floating of fresh lemons, and its taste should not be oxidized or old like filled lemon juice.

Overall winner

Simply lemonade

Almost everyone praised this lemonade for their refreshing citrus taste and their balanced look. “I can drink that!” Our editorial director, Danielwrote. (A big compliment from a man who swears on fresh lemonade with bold.) ThermaliaOur associated culinary editor was impressed compared to other brands bought in the shop: “Does not have this old, blunt lemon juice taste that many lemonades bought in the store have.” KelliOur high -ranking social media editor summarized our thoughts about the brand in one word: “Tapy!”

Second

  • Newman’s own old -fashioned roadside
  • Minute maid lemonade

Although we did not enjoy a single brand as much as our winner, our editors mighted these brands and it would be okay to operate them in a potluck. Everyone thought that Newman’s own old -fashioned roadside Had a nice sour kick and Kelli thought it was “the only one who wasn’t too sweet”. Laila, on the other hand, found the lemonade “very cute”, but liked it that she didn’t feel “artificial”.

The tasters were also pleasantly surprised by the prominent lemon aromas in Minute maid lemonade. Laila enjoyed its brightness compared to the rest of the bunch. “It tastes more similar to fresh lemon juice than most of the line -up. It has a nice pop.” GeneviaveOur senior editor thought that the most of the others have crossed the list and wrote that it “tastes better than it smells”.

Important snack bars and conclusion

Of all the lemonades we tried, only a small handful of the preferences of our team fit. Some of the lemonades were a bit too funky, flat or had artificial lemon fragrances that reminded our editors more of cleaning agents and detergents than fresh juice.

Nevertheless, this does not mean that our editors all agreed. Some preferred their lemonade on the sweeter side, while others decided to make them acidic enough to make them pucker.

Good lemonade begins with fresh lemon juice, but most of the versions bought in the shop are made with concentrate and “natural flavors”, which do not quite grasp the brightness of the real thing. Some also include excessive sweeteners and preservatives such as potassium sorbat, sodium benzoate, citric acid and ascorbic acid, which can make the drink sweet without a trace or give it a less natural tasting chemical edge. In general, our editors preferred brands with shorter ingredient lists that tasted closer to freshly made lemonade.

For the best lemonade, they are better off to make their own. However, if you need the convenience of a filled product, our winning brands are all good options. Enjoy it by itself, add sweet tea for Arnold Palmerjazz it with Cucumber and lemon grassor infuse it Cardamom and salt.

Our test methodology

All taste tests are carried out with brands that are completely hidden and without discussion. Tasted tastes of samples in random order. For example, button A can taste a sample first, while buttons B tastes a sample first. This is intended to prevent the tiredness of the palate of a sample wrong. Tosters are asked to fill out tasting sheets and to evaluate the samples according to various criteria. All data are tabular and the results are calculated without editorial input to enable the most impartial presentation of the actual results.
