While a tomato Martini Perhaps a rather strange concept sound, they listen to me: Taming the fiery bite of a classic Martini with the hearty sweetness of tomatoes creates somewhat irrefutably delightful and a new way of celebrating the bonus of summer. Here sun gives gold tomatoes to their sweet juices and subtle orange shade of the cocktail. By simply shattering the tomatoes in a shaker together with a few basil leaves – no other than in a cocktail – she inserts her tire, herbal taste in gin – and double on the complex flower character of the mind. This stirred (non -poured) mix is tense into a chilled glass, so that you only have the essence of tomatoes. It’s sweet, salty, hearty and ripe with summer taste.
While you can certainly use vodka instead of the gin, there is a stronger herbal taste that shows the best qualities of both the tomatoes and the basil. A cheeky garnish of a cherry tomato that was threaded on a cocktail pick gives the drink a touch of a mood.
